What is a Blog?
A Blog (aka Web Log) is a website or area on a website providing commentary, articles, graphics or video to keep visitors informed about news, events or other general topics of interest. Today businesses and organizations are using blogs to get information to your customers/members on a regular basis. Blogs are typically organized with the newest post shown first and combine relevant content, images, and links for your visitors to read and view.
Benefits of Adding a Blog to Your Website
There are many benefits of
adding a Blog to your website. (1) Give your audience a reason to come back. If you post information to your blog on a regular schedule and your information is relevant to your audience, people will return to your website to keep updated and learn about your industry. (2) Spread the word. Those people that are interested in what you have to say may tell others about the information found on one or more of your blog posts, bringing more traffic to your site. (3) Search Engines will see that your site is alive and active with new content, helping increase Search Engine rankings. The WebHornet blog allows you to tag articles and auto generates an RSS feed for your audience to follow all of your posts via
RSS service.
Central Place for Your Website Blog
The WebHornet Blog is an enhanced module to help you customize your website. When using WebHornet, you have a central place to manage both your website and your blog instead of using 3rd party blog software such as WordPress or Blogger. Visitors come directly to your website to read your blog rather than pushing them off to a different website or domain. With this activity and frequent blog posts, you can increase your Search Engine rankings!
If you would still prefer to link to your WordPress or 3rd party blog, no problem! Links can be added throughout your site and to navigation areas.
Visitor Comments
The current release of WebHornet does not allow for visitors to leave comments on blog posts, however this is a feature that will be added in a future version of WebHornet. This feature will be optional for those of you that do not want visitors leaving comments.
